joe and stephanie's wedding ~ big sur, california

I had the privilege of photographing my uncle Joe's wedding in Big Sur.  I knew this place was beautiful, but I really don't think any photograph could do it justice.  It's one of the most magnificent places I've ever been.  It also happens to be a place that Joe and Stephanie hold dear, and so it became the obvious place for them to marry.

The wedding venue was a quaint house with a sprawling deck and fantastic views.  It was intimate, with only about 25 guests, laid back, and without the wedding traditions you typically see.  I absolutely loved it!  It definitely made me want to do my wedding all over again and make it as simple and sweet as Stephanie did.  They were married on a deck overlooking the Pacific.  Trees, ocean, and sky were about all you could see for miles and miles.  My father played some music on his guitar before the wedding took place and as Stephanie walked herself down the "aisle."  The food was delicious and the company even better.  The whole day really was a reflection of what Joe and Stephanie have built together as a couple.  They share this genuine love for one another, which was so completely apparent from the moment I saw them together.  I am just so happy for them, that they found one another, and for the life they will now share together.  I've never seen my uncle happier.

love shoot ~ ashley & karl

I really loved this photo shoot.  Mostly because Ashley and Karl have the sweetest love story. He's from New Zealand, she's from Utah.  They've known each other for years, but timing wasn't quite right.  And then it was.  The only problem was that Karl was back in New Zealand and Ashley was here in Utah.  So he proposed with a video that also included a ring.  She said yes.

That was in April, and now it's November and they just barely reunited.  That's right, they haven't even seen each other face to face since their engagement.  Talk about longing and pining.  I was fortunate to have a photo session with these two love birds just two days after their reunion.  All that missing one another certainly made for a great photo shoot.  And of course they're the sweetest together, not to mention beautiful.  I just have a feeling about these two.  It's the real deal.

Originally, Ashley wanted something with trees, and leaves, and grass.  Well, we sort of had an incredible dumping of snow the weekend the photo shoot was planned, but I think it worked out fine.  The whole winter wonderland theme was quite beautiful, and the 29 degree temperature made for some great cuddling opportunities.  I also took some pictures of the couple with Ashley's son.  Such a sweet little family.  No matter that I couldn't feel my fingers afterward.  Totally worth it.

stacey's bridals ~ birdsong trail, ogden ut

Stacey is my beautiful sister-in-law, and as luck would have it, when she married David last year, she broke her arm just weeks before.  Throw in the rainy, wet weather the week leading up to her wedding, and sadly, bridals didn't happen for Stacey.

I was super excited to make it up to her this year, and just a couple days before her one year anniversary.  She wanted autumn foliage in the background, so we headed up to a beautiful local walking trail to capture what was missed a year ago.
